Role Overview

  • The College invites applications for the position of Professor in the Department of Computer Science-AIML (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning). The role is full-time and is suited to a candidate with a demonstrable track record in machine learning research and teaching. The appointment is for one vacancy, with a focus on advancing UG and PG education, as well as pursuing impactful research, funded projects, and high-quality publications. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s strategic priorities in curriculum design, research excellence, and industry partnerships, while upholding CBIT’s standards of academic integrity and scholarly achievement in line with UGC guidelines and NAAC expectations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate instruction in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning (AIML).
  • Lead and supervise innovative research projects, supervise doctoral and master’s theses, and guide students toward publishing in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Develop and revise curriculum in alignment with industry trends, national standards, and NAAC/UGC requirements; contribute to programmatic accreditation activities and outcome-based assessment.
  • Initiate and cultivate external collaborations with industry, research labs, and other academic institutions; pursue funded research grants and partnerships.
  • Mentor junior faculty, contribute to departmental academic leadership, and participate in governance, committee work, and student support services.
  • Contribute to the institute’s knowledge creation through seminars, workshops, and conference participation; foster a research culture and ethical scholarly conduct.
  • Engage in service activities within the college and the wider academic community, including peer reviews, assessment, and outreach programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a closely allied field from a recognized university.
  • UGC NET/SET clearance as mandated for regular faculty appointments in central/state universities and autonomous institutes in India.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the university or accredited college level.
  • At least 1 year of industry experience or industry-relevant exposure in machine learning or AI projects.
  • Demonstrated scholarly output with a minimum of 1 published work in a recognized journal or conference.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong, sustained research portfolio in machine learning, AI, data mining, deep learning, or related areas with evidence of funded projects or collaborations.
  • Experience in mentoring doctoral students, developing course modules, and leading interdisciplinary programs.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver outcome-based education in line with UGC/NAAC norms and autonomous institute standards.
  • Track record of successful grant applications and collaboration with industry partners.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills suitable for a dynamic academic environment.

  • Salary in the UGC Pay Band applicable to Professor-grade faculty at autonomous institutes, consistent with UGC Regulations and CBIT’s pay structure.
